We are so excited that one of our very own Elite-Sports Marketing-sponsored youth football team’s are making waves with an unbeaten start to their season!
Leighton Woodside Athletic heads into 2025 on a high, boasting an impressive record of seven wins and one draw from eight games in the Beds Girls League, Under 16 Division One. Adding to their achievements, the team has advanced to the semi-finals of the County Cup and the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
Under the expert guidance of coaches Andy MacKenzie and Ashley Hartwig, the team has flourished both on and off the pitch. Andy praised the team’s progress, saying:
“The girls have made a fantastic start to the season, but what matters most is seeing them play with smiles on their faces and truly enjoying their football.
“Our focus is on developing every player while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. The team spirit is incredible, and the girls consistently show positive attitudes and strong support for one another, both on and off the pitch.”
The camaraderie within the squad was on full display during a recent team Christmas outing to watch Watford take on West Brom, where 50 players and family members joined in the fun!
The team’s remarkable season builds on a successful summer, where they triumphed at the Chinnor Youth Football Event, Moretonville Summer Tournament, and Aylesbury Festival of Football.
