An Elite Sports Marketing-sponsored football side is celebrating a season of trophy success!

Leighton Woodside Girls Under 15s ended their 23-24 campaign with three knockout victories; winning the Chinnor Youth Football Event, Moretonville Summer Tournament and Aylesbury Festival of Football 6-a-side competitions.

The side lost just one match in the Bedfordshire Girls League, Under 15 Division One. However, after topping the table all the way until the last week of the season, they were pipped into runners-up spot on the final day by close rivals City Belles, who also ended with a record of just one defeat.

The end of season awards saw Tamzin Hartwig win Players’ Player of the Year, Cory How win Supporters’ Player of the Year, Summer Sanchez and Zara MacKenzie win a Manager’s Award each and Rubee Whittaker win Most Improved.

The side is run by coaches Andy MacKenzie and Ash Hartwig.

“Andy said: “It’s been a fabulous season from all our players from start to finish.”

“Our emphasis is always on making sure everyone enjoys their football first and foremost, but we always look to develop players and the progress over the past 12 months from all the squad has been tremendous.”

“All the girls have terrific desire and a will-to-win, but more importantly they show superb teamwork and a real team togetherness. They play the game the right way and are respectful to their opponents, match officials, parents and coaches.”

“All of this has been aided by Elite Sports Marketing, helping provide the girls with home and away playing strip and full training kit to not only make sure they look the part but also to ensure they can train and improve their skills – and we thank them wholeheartedly for their support.”
